Mayor proclaims January 2025 Crime Stoppers Month in Wichita Falls

Wichita Falls — Mayor Tim Short on Jan. 21 presented a proclamation designating January 2025 as Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers Month and invited representatives to accept the proclamation.
Samantha Forster, identified as president of the Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers board and a city employee, thanked the council and noted the organization's regional reach and fundraising activities. Forster said the program serves a three-county area, has paid more than $1 million in rewards since 1981 and has helped clear more than 8,000 cases.
Forster told the council the group will hold a fundraiser and change the location of its annual golf tournament to the country club for March 17, and asked for community teams to participate.
Mayor Short read the proclamation and called attention to the work of Crime Stoppers in incentivizing tips that help law enforcement solve cases.
