Dallas County Commissioners honor retiring auditor, recognize employees and mark Lunar New Year

The Dallas County Commissioners Court on Monday adopted a series of ceremonial resolutions recognizing long-serving county employees, honoring retirees and proclaiming Lunar New Year.
The court unanimously approved a resolution honoring Weston (Wesson) Stefano for more than 34 years of service, a separate resolution recognizing January employees of the month, resolutions remembering civic leader Eugenie Jeanne D. Fritz and honoring Pamela S. Hart on her retirement, and a proclamation recognizing Lunar New Year 2025.
The retirement resolution for Weston Stefano, who served in the auditor’s office in multiple roles and as interim county auditor, was introduced by the court and approved by voice vote. Stefano and family members attended; Stefano spoke briefly, thanking colleagues and listing staff and leaders who supported his career. The court also read and adopted resolutions congratulating Employees of the Month (Manolito Norman, Destiny Flores, Bridal May, Matthew Barker and Makalia Washington) and presenting them for a group photograph.
The court adopted a resolution celebrating the life and civic contributions of Eugenie Jeanne Defritz; representatives of the League of Women Voters of Dallas spoke at the dais. Pamela S. Hart, a long-serving jury-services clerk, appeared and spoke briefly after the court adopted a retirement resolution honoring her service.
Commissioner Summerman brought forward a resolution recognizing Lunar New Year and invited leaders from the Greater Dallas Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and other community groups to the podium. The court noted Dallas County’s large Asian American population and its economic contributions, and the proclamation was adopted unanimously.
