County council approves $268,000 contract to replace sewer lines in county admin building

Jason (county staff) presented a contract with England Construction to replace sewer lines inside the county administration building and asked the council to approve it.
Jason said England Construction was the only bidder and that inspection by plumbers showed the in-building cast-iron lines were deteriorated; the work will replace inside lines up to the first clean-out and will include cutting concrete in the basement and installing new ABS piping for roughly 160 feet.
He said the project estimate is $268,000 and that the contractor indicated work could begin as soon as next week and take about six to eight weeks. Jason said the outside lines were reported as largely sound and that the scope focuses on the interior building piping.
Councilman Hoffman moved to approve the contract and Councilman Thomas seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The council did not add conditions to the contract during the meeting.
