Council members provided a series of local announcements including dates and locations for community meetings, a budget pre‑comment period and neighborhood events.
Council Member Porterfield reminded residents that the council will hold a budget pre‑comment period on Feb. 4, during which community members can sign up before the regular meeting to present budget priorities. Several council members announced district town halls and neighborhood meetings on upcoming dates: district 31 community meeting regarding a potential rezoning at Nashville Collegiate Prep on Jan. 29 (Council Member Rutherford); a Green Hills neighborhood meeting on Jan. 28 at the Community Foundation of Nashville (Council Member Pupnie); district 3 quarterly meeting Jan. 28 at Hunters Lane High School (Council Member Gamble); and multiple dates for district 1 and district 8 meetings to discuss rezonings, school updates and transportation matters (Council Members Kimbrough and Harrell).
Council Member Coopin announced that Silver Sands Cafe (district 19) reopened after resolving code issues and reported more than 300 customers on the first day back. Council Member Wiener invited colleagues to a Jan. 29 celebration marking the Bellevue Library’s 10th anniversary and circulation of a proclamation. Council Member Greg said a district town hall originally scheduled for Jan. 11 was moved to Feb. 1 at Donaldson Library to discuss airport noise and rezone requests. Another announcement noted Dozen Bakery’s 10th anniversary celebration on Feb. 2 as it relocates between districts.
Several announcements included meeting platforms and sign‑up instructions: one rezoning meeting will be virtual via WebEx (Council Member Bradford) and a district 1 session will include a Tennessee Department of Safety presence to assist residents with REAL ID applications (Council Member Kimbrough). Council members encouraged residents to consult newsletters and social media for WebEx links and further details.
These announcements were delivered in the meeting’s announcements block; the transcript records dates, times, and venue names as provided by the council members, not formal council actions.
