Hialeah schedules José Martí parade Jan. 26; international food tasting set Feb. 8, organizers say

Hialeah will hold a José Martí parade on Jan. 26 as part of the city’s 100th‑anniversary activities, and an international food tasting featuring local restaurants is scheduled for Feb. 8, organizers said.

The announcements came during a city events segment in which Gina Romero, a journalist covering the celebrations, invited residents to participate and encouraged businesses and individuals to sponsor the events. Romero said attendees can contact the events office to register or offer sponsorships.

Romero described the Jan. 26 event as the José Martí parade tied to the city’s centennial calendar and said organizers are accepting participants and sponsors. “Invitamos a todos los residentes a que participen,” Romero said, adding that interested sponsors should contact the events office at events@hialeahfl.gov.

On Feb. 8, Romero said participating restaurants and vendors will offer dishes representing several countries, including Colombia, Puerto Rico, El Salvador and Cuba. “Van a estar restaurantes locales y distribuidores de diferentes países,” she said. The segment noted that the tasting will highlight local eateries and regional cuisines.

Host Néstor thanked Romero and acknowledged David, a guest on the program, while Romero asked residents and businesses to invite the events team to neighborhood locations. She added that the events team appears weekly on Tuesdays at different establishments and parks to promote city activities and that organizers welcome invitations from local businesses.

Organizers did not give a schedule of parade participants, a specific parade route or a list of confirmed food vendors during the segment. Details on vendor fees, permit requirements or sponsorship packages were not specified; interested parties were directed to contact events@hialeahfl.gov for more information.
