Board approves consent items, adopts temporary policies and continues judicial reappointment after public objection

The Mohave County Board of Supervisors handled a large consent agenda and several routine items on Jan. 21, approving most consent items on a consolidated voice vote, approving multiple contracts and grants, adopting direction for a temporary office‑use policy for state and federal legislators, and continuing a judicial reappointment after a public speaker requested additional review.

Consent agenda and pulled items: The board approved the consent agenda after supervisors pulled a number of items for discussion. Multiple items were discussed and approved individually after questions, including procurement, ARPA planning items, detention medical services and emergency operations contracts and grants.

Notable approvals and actions - Hospital/detention contracts (Items 13 & 15): The board approved contract items related to hospitalization and inmate medical transportation; staff said they will follow up with the sheriff’s office about whether negotiated access rates apply to the billed services.
