Council meets Visit Casper’s new director and Ford Wyoming Center general manager

Council members received brief introductions from new leaders in Casper’s tourism and event-venue operations.

Carter invited the new Visit Casper director, Catherine (first name only in the transcript), to speak. Catherine said she had been in the community for about two weeks and described nearly 14 years of experience running destination-marketing organizations (CVBs) and related nonprofit economic-development organizations. She said her family homesteaded south of Casper and that she is "brand spanking new here in the community." Catherine invited council and jurisdictional representatives to reach out and mentioned an upcoming reception at the governor’s tourism conference where her team will attend.

The council then introduced leadership changes at the Ford Wyoming Center. City staff recognized Amanda Flanagan for serving as interim general manager and noted she is currently the director of booking. Jake Crum introduced himself as the new general manager, saying he has more than 20 years of experience in live events and production and previously worked for Global Spectrum/Spectra. Council members and staff welcomed both leaders and offered to connect them with partners in the community.

No formal council action was required; these remarks were introductory and intended to give council and the public an opportunity to meet new staff and external partners.
