Board approves curriculum updates, trips, vendor contracts and budget items

The board also approved three additional field trips for the 2024–25 school year (two Friendship Elementary visits, one high school music trip to New York City) and authorized payment for two vetted presenters: Burns Health Education’s Grow and Know program at $820.64 per school and “Ryan the Bug Man” at $385 per school.
On finance and procurement the board approved bills for payment, budget transfers, the district’s 2025 investment program guidelines, unchanged student meal prices proposed for 2025–26, and a tax collector compensation resolution for the year beginning Jan. 1, 2026. The board awarded the district’s shredding services contract to MarCO Technologies LLC beginning July 1, 2025 at $906 annually for three years and authorized administration to issue a request for proposals for district printing services. The board also authorized advertising for bids to replace select roof sections at three schools as part of the capital improvements plan and grant funding.
The meeting record shows a motion to authorize Superintendent Robert Bryson, in consultation with the board president and committee chairs, to provisionally hire a school safety and security coordinator before the Feb. 20, 2025 meeting; any provisional hire will require ratification at the next board meeting.
