Elmhurst council adopts consent agenda, approves $1.62 million in payments and police contract resolution

The Elmhurst City Council on Jan. 21 adopted its consent agenda, approving accounts payable totaling $1,621,377.12 and a package of routine reports, contracts and resolutions by a 12–0 vote with one member absent.

The consent calendar included 18 items ranging from minutes and accounts-payable approval to intergovernmental and engineering agreements, roadway and sewer maintenance contracts, and a resolution approving a collective bargaining agreement between the city and the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council on behalf of Elmhurst Police Officers, Illinois FOP Lodge No. 81.

Mayor Levin said the city’s State of the City address is scheduled for Thursday and encouraged attendance: "There's still seats available for that free breakfast, so I hope you'll be able to attend. If you can't, it will be televised." He also thanked public works employees for their work on water-main repairs in cold weather: "They're out there making sure that our water stays on and breaking any, fixing any broken water mains that are occurring, which they do with some frequency in this cold weather."
