The El Centro City Council on Jan. 21 adopted a resolution to appoint Daniel Paramo as interim city manager. Dulce Badoya, the city’s human resources director, presented the recommendation and described the proposed terms.
The resolution (identified in the meeting as 25‑01) appoints Paramo to serve for a six‑month period running Dec. 17, 2024 through June 16, 2025, or until he reaches 960 hours of work, whichever occurs first. Badoya said the hourly rate is $115.39. The mayor read the statement required by Government Code section 54953 outlining the compensation and benefit terms for an executive appointment before council consideration.
Badoya said Paramo will receive the same reimbursement levels as other employees and will not receive a car allowance or additional benefits beyond those described in the resolution. Council considered the resolution and voted to adopt it; the clerk recorded the vote as "3‑1‑1" in the meeting record as read aloud at the time the clerk announced the result.
Outcome: resolution to establish compensation and terms for Daniel Paramo as interim city manager adopted. Staff will implement the employment terms per the adopted resolution.
