Task force staff told members on Jan. 13 that the county’s community survey for the forest resilience plan has generated 334 responses and will remain open until Jan. 17.
Kate (project staff) said the survey launched Dec. 9 and staff extended the closing date by about a week and a half to increase participation, with county communications amplifying outreach through newsletters and social media. She said the team will provide a brief results summary at the Feb. 10 task force meeting depending on agenda time.
Members asked about respondent makeup. Melanie (project staff) said the survey does not collect granular respondent-sector categories that would distinguish, for example, recreation from environmental advocacy with the current question set; staff reported relatively more responses from recreation interests and fewer from timber/forest-management interests, and asked task force members to help promote the survey to underrepresented groups before it closes.
Staff said they would manually close the survey on Friday afternoon (the meeting referenced Jan. 17) and would send a notice to members when the survey is closed.
