Resident urges district to clear Mechanicsville Road sidewalk after recent storms

During public participation at the Jan. 13 operations segment, resident Anthony Kupchak told committee members that sidewalks along Mechanicsville Road have not been consistently cleared after several smaller snow events.
Kupchak said the sidewalk is used by people who walk for exercise and by students and that maintenance should not require a large storm before being attended to. "I don't think we need a 10-inch storm to maintain the sidewalk the way it should be maintained," he said.
A committee member acknowledged the concern and said the district will have the issue addressed and will follow up with the resident. No formal action or policy change was made during the meeting; staff said they would respond to Kupchak and follow up through the appropriate operations channels.
