During the meeting the board requested a correction to the job description’s reporting line; the posted description listed the position reporting to a director, but the board directed that the safety coordinator should report to the assistant superintendent. Administration confirmed the job description will be corrected and returned for formal approval at the Jan. 28 meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Henry clarified the district’s intent about the physical location for officers: some schools will have an office for an assigned officer where they can conduct work, but officers’ primary check-in and storage of materials would be at the district office. "At John Hever, we'll have an office for the officer... but the actual location where they would clock in or leave their material would be here at the district office," Dr. Henry said.
