Franklin County Commission approves multiple contracts, memberships and cyber insurance

The Franklin County Commission on Jan. 21 approved a slate of routine contracts, renewals and memberships covering county technology, emergency communications and health-department services.
The most costly single approval was a cyber insurance policy from Cowbell Cyber Incorporated with a premium of $27,799 for a policy period from Feb. 1, 2025, through Feb. 1, 2026. The commission voted to accept the quote and authorize the county to purchase the policy.
The commission also approved a quote from Insight for Microsoft server and database licensing, a purchase not to exceed $155,678.90, described by the commission as a step to update county licensing.
The board approved a planned service agreement with CK Power for maintenance of generators at the sheriff’s office, a three-year agreement with a total cost not to exceed $5,957.
