Board elects Crystal Bender president, Lori Lepley vice president; consent agenda approved

The Allegheny County Board of Education elected Crystal Bender as president and Lori Lepley as vice president during its Jan. 14 meeting. The board then approved the consent agenda.
Board members opened the floor for nominations. A nomination for Crystal Bender for president was made and, after no further nominations, the board voted; the chair called the vote unanimous. For vice president, Lori Lepley was nominated and the board again voted unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda on a motion by Lori Lepley, seconded by Mr. Green; the chair said the motion "passes unanimously." No roll-call tally with individual votes was read into the record for the officer elections; the meeting transcript records the outcome as unanimous. One absence was noted during the closed-session summary from Dec. 10.
No substantive debate occurred during the elections or the consent-agenda approval.
The board adjourned at the end of the meeting following routine closing motions.
