Matt said the district’s agreement with those five educators is for three years and the $80,000 covers that three‑year period; after three years, the district and the teachers may pursue extensions if the placements are successful. “The 3 years is the agreement … and that 80,000 covers for the 3 years,” Matt said.
Committee members asked whether the program was working. Matt replied that four of the five educators have performed well; one has struggled for personal reasons related to family and adjusting to a new country.
