Plano planning commission approves religious-facility replat, tables multiple school and development items and reinstates expired Murata replat

The Plano Planning and Zoning Commission on Jan. 21 approved a preliminary replat for a religious facility and daycare center, tabled several school-site replats and a zoning amendment request, and granted a reinstatement for a lapsed replat after the applicant said the property owner had been ill.

Donna Sepulvedo, lead planner with the city—s planning department, told commissioners that the preliminary replat for the congregation site was "recommended for approval, subject to additions and or alterations to the engineering plans as required by the engineering department." The commission approved that item by an 8-0 vote.

Why it matters: Replats and zoning amendments change how parcels may be developed and used; the items before the commission affected a religious facility and daycare, multiple future Plano Independent School District sites, and a large Legacy Drive property in the Dallas North Tollway overlay.
