The Finance, Budget and Personnel Committee recommended that the common council approve Budget Resolution 03-2025 to fund a $35,000 renovation of Stroman Park from room tax revenues collected in 2024.
Jennifer Salinski, finance director, said the city had budgeted $100,000 for the project in 2024, including $35,000 from room tax and the remainder expected from grants and donations. Salinski said the grants and donations did not materialize in 2024 and the project did not begin; room-tax funds remained available in the fund. She recommended moving forward now with $35,000 in room-tax funding and having the Board of Public Works solicit bids; if approved by council on Jan. 28 the solicitation and budget resolution would be presented to the common council.
Committee members offered no questions and the motion to approve Budget Resolution 03-2025 carried on a voice vote.
