DRC clears walk-on permits for three Feb.–Mar. Apopka events

Lexi said the event would run 5 p.m.–9 p.m. and the applicant expects roughly 275 attendees, with alcohol service and use of the community center and nearby public parking.
The Rotary Club of Apopka’s annual Apopka Fair is proposed for Feb. 27–March 2 at Kaitlyn Nelson Park/Edwards Field. Lexi summarized planned vendor tents, food concessions and alcohol sales; she said organizers were still deciding whether to hire a private security company and reported parking would use a portion of Edwards Field. The transcript records an attendance estimate written as “25100”; the applicant did not clarify the figure on the record, so the expected attendance number is not specified in committee documents.
Department reviewers — police, fire and building — had no substantive objections on the record. A building department speaker asked that fire and building resume on-site walk-through inspections for large events, specifically recommending a return of walkthroughs for the fair to ensure electrical and fire-safety compliance.
