East Troy honors Clerk Laurie Alexander with retirement proclamation

The proclamation, read at the start of the meeting by President Johnson, noted that Alexander began work with the village in November 2008 as an administrative assistant and accounting clerk, was promoted to deputy clerk in December 2013 and to clerk in January 2020. It also recorded that Alexander earned a certified municipal clerk designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in November 2014.
The proclamation text said, “We wish Laurie many years of good health and happiness as she retires from the Village of East Troy and embarks on this new chapter of her life,” and the board voted to commend and congratulate her for her “dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the Village of East Troy.”
Trustees and staff praised Alexander’s institutional knowledge and her role overseeing elections; President Johnson specifically thanked her for her work during the November election and for helping manage increased absentee voting turnout.
The board did not take formal action beyond issuing the proclamation. The village will record the proclamation in the official minutes.
