Minnesota Supreme Court Associate Justice Gordon Moore administered the ceremonial oath of office to members of the Northfield Public School Board during the Jan. 13, 2025 organizational meeting.
Moore, a Northfield resident and former school board member, asked board members to rise and recite the oath after a brief preliminary statement in which he emphasized the board’s responsibilities for vision, accountability and advocacy. “It is an honor to be elected to guide the education of our community's children,” Moore said as he introduced the oath. He concluded with best wishes for a productive 2025.
Board members publicly affirmed their commitment by raising their right hands and repeating the oath to support the U.S. and Minnesota constitutions and to discharge faithfully the duties of the office of school board member for Independent School District 659.
