Trustee Kaminsky asked whether vehicle physical-damage claims (for items such as damaged police cars) are covered under CVMIC; Erin said those claims are handled under the MPIC contract previously approved, while CVMIC covers liability and workers' compensation.
On the ARIP grant, village staff explained the budget amendment is being made so the 2025 budget will reflect both the additional expense and the associated grant revenue. The committee chair said the Village Board would consider accepting the grant later the same night, and staff said the ARIP project in discussion is for approximately $258,000 in road work.
The cyber grant item was described as a state grant for cybersecurity improvements totaling $18,228. Staff said the funds will pay to upgrade the village's Microsoft Defender package from P1 to P2 and to add multifactor authentication (MFA) to servers; Capital Data is the contractor the village has consulted about implementing the changes.
