Commissioners amend water/sewer resolution to reduce allocated EDUs for St. George's Island

The Board of County Commissioners voted May 29 to adopt a resolution amending prior water and sewer resolutions to reflect returned allocations of equivalent dwelling units (EDUs) for properties on St. George's Island.
County Attorney Mr. Sparling described the amendment as a housekeeping measure to keep the public records accurate when EDUs are surrendered or canceled. He said the resolution treats two recent instances — one in which an owner surrendered one of two EDUs and another in which a trading development right (TDR) was lifted from a lot, making the lot undevelopable and prompting cancellation of the allocated EDU.
The motion adopted amendments to resolutions WS9201 and 9404, reducing the allocation of EDUs on the identified map parcels and setting the total number of EDUs allocated to St. George's Island at 235. Commissioners noted St. George's Island allocations remain subject to a consent agreement with the St. George's Island Community Improvement Association; additional allocations on the island require the association's consent.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote.
County staff said the change corrects the total from 237 to 235 EDUs and will be shared with the island's Improvement Association for their records.
