Senate gives first readings to multiple bills and refers them to committee
Summary

The Minnesota Senate gave first readings to a set of bills listed on the introduction calendar and referred each to the committee named in the agenda. The clerk reported the introductions and the presiding officer announced the referrals on the floor.
On the introduction calendar the clerk announced the following changes and referrals: on page 6, Senate File 54 was referred to the Committee on Transportation, Senate File 55 to the Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety, and Senate File 57 to the Committee on State and Local Government. On page 18, Senate File 175 was referred to the Committee on Transportation. On page 19, Senate File 191 was referred to the Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety. On page 22, Senate File 219 was referred to the Committee on Taxes. On page 26, Senate File 258 was referred to the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection.
The announcements were made as part of the eighth order of business (introduction and first reading of senate bills). The clerk stated that the bills listed on the day’s introduction calendar were given their first readings and referred as indicated; no debate on the bills occurred during this session and no roll-call votes were recorded on the introductions.
Ending: The referrals set committee assignment for the listed measures and the Senate proceeded to later business on the agenda.
