The Village of Burr Ridge Board of Trustees closed a public hearing and approved extensions for the Fallingwater First Edition subdivision's annexation and subdivision completion agreements, moving the expiration dates to Dec. 31, 2026.
Janine, a village staff member, told the board Fallingwater First Edition is a five-lot subdivision on the north side of Cascade Circle with two outlots for detention and an access road. She said the final plat was approved in 2018 but no subdivision improvements have been constructed; the petitioner is actively seeking a developer.
Janine said the petitioner requested a "fourth extension to the annexation agreement and a third extension to the subdivision completion agreement." She noted the requested extensions would set the new expiration date at December 31, 2026, a two-year extension from the current deadline.
The public hearing drew no speakers from the audience and the board voted to close the hearing. "Can I get a motion to close the public hearing?" Mayor Grasso asked; a motion and second were made and the board closed the hearing without public comment.
The annexation and subdivision-extension items were part of the consent agenda and were approved as part of an omnibus motion. The board approved the consent agenda by roll-call vote (recorded as 6-0). The consent package included an ordinance authorizing the fourth amendment to the Falling Water First Edition annexation agreement and a separate resolution granting a third extension for completion of subdivision improvements.
Trustees did not discuss technical changes to the Fallingwater agreements during the meeting; Janine said the petitioner's attorney was available if questions arose. The extensions give the petitioner until the end of 2026 to secure a developer and complete required subdivision improvements.
