The Millard School Board administered oaths of office to three newly-elected or re-elected board members and held its annual officer elections.
Justin Curtis, Amanda McGill Johnson and Linda Poole were sworn in during the meeting. Following the oath, board members cast secret ballots for board officers. The roll-call results recorded in the meeting show Linda Poole elected president; Mike Kennedy elected vice president; a board member identified as Lisa elected secretary (the transcript records the first name but the meeting audio/transcript contains variation in surname spelling); and Amanda McGill Johnson elected treasurer.
Nut graf: officer elections set the leadership team that will preside over the board’s business through the year and serve as the district’s public board officers for governance and liaison responsibilities.
Board members and the superintendent welcomed the new and returning members. Several board members remarked on continuity and community engagement; one board member noted this meeting may be the first time the board included three Millard alumni sworn in simultaneously. The board then proceeded to regular business.
