Council updates and adopts charge for Police Advisory Committee

Chief Brian Vail and committee members presented an updated charge for the Barre City Police Advisory Committee on Jan. 14. Vail said the previous document was outdated and that the updated charge and mission better reflected the committee’s current role in reviewing policies.
Councilors praised the committee’s work. A committee chair said the group had been thorough in reviewing policies and indicated he would seek release from the chair role in May to allow new leadership.
The council moved, seconded and voted unanimously to accept the committee charge as presented.
Ending: The committee will continue policy review work under the new charge and provide recommendations to the council as policies come up for consideration.
