Camdenton R-III board adopts 2025–26 calendar after staff survey favors Option B

The Camdenton R-III School District Board of Education voted Jan. 13 to adopt the 2025–26 school calendar, selecting calendar Option B as presented by district staff.

District officials said Option B preserves a two‑week parent‑teacher conference window tied to a districtwide required date of Oct. 23, 2025, while giving staff and students Oct. 31 off. The adopted calendar also sets April 7, 2026, as an off day following the district’s spring break and incorporates built‑in snow makeup hours to satisfy state forgiveness formulas.

School administrators told the board they modeled next year’s schedule on the current 2024–25 calendar and adjusted only a few dates after feedback from the calendar advisory committee and a staff survey. The committee presented two calendars (A and B); staff certified personnel returned 216 survey responses and a majority preference for Option B, district staff said. Staff also noted that Option A contained an incorrect April 16 entry that was removed from consideration.

District staff said the calendar preserves a PLC (professional learning community) day on Oct. 20, 2025, and allows schools to hold parent‑teacher conferences at any point during the district window between the PLC day and the district date. Officials also confirmed a teacher work day following the Super Bowl (Feb. 9, 2026) remains in the schedule.

Board members moved to adopt the calendar as presented. The motion passed on a voice vote; the board did not record a roll‑call tally in the minutes.

The adopted calendar takes effect for the 2025–26 school year and will be published by the district for families and staff.
