Monroe County Redevelopment Commission: slate, calendar approved; bond repayment deferred, contractor claim paid

The Monroe County Redevelopment Commission approved a slate of officers, adopted a 2025 meeting schedule, approved minutes from Nov. 20 and authorized payment for one claims item while deferring another pending verification — actions recorded by roll call votes.

Commissioners voted 3-0 to continue the prior year’s slate of officers: Richard Martin as president, Colin McCarty as vice president and Erez (Erris/Iris) Kiesling as secretary. The commission then voted 3-0 to adopt its 2025 calendar, holding regular meetings on the third Wednesday of each month except March, when meetings will occur on the fourth Wednesday because the usual date coincides with spring break.

The commission approved the minutes of its Nov. 20 meeting by a 3-0 vote.

On claims, the commission approved payment to Butler, Fairman and Seaford in the amount of $20,804.49 for work related to the Harsh Farm Greenway connector, voting 3-0. The commission deferred consideration of a bond repayment to Old National Bank for $123,347.91 until counsel could verify whether requested adjustments — discussed in the meeting — had been applied. The motion to defer was approved by roll call (3-0).

Meeting participants also noted the Greenway work corresponds to the Liberty Drive connector segment (Forest Farm to Constitution). Staff said they would verify bond payment details before the February meeting.

All roll calls recorded the same three affirmative votes: Commissioner Richard Martin — yes; Commissioner Cassidy — yes; Commissioner Colin McCarty — yes. One commissioner was absent for the meeting.
