Lowndes County commissioners approved purchasing a new replacement pump for the Union Road duplex lift station that serves Frank’s Creek and Creekside West subdivisions.
Staff reported that one of the station’s 45-horsepower pumps required major repairs. The removed pump was evaluated by Zalom, which provided a repair quote of $45,761.60. Staff recommended purchasing a new replacement pump from Xylem for $51,196 and the board voted to approve that purchase.
County staff said the Union Road lift station serves subdivisions on the north end of the county; the approved purchase will restore dual-pump redundancy at the station. The motion to approve carried without recorded opposition.
