Lowndes County commissioners voted to approve Supplemental Agreement No. 1 for the Coleman Road Northwest paving and drainage improvements and authorized the chairman to sign the agreement.
County staff told the board the original agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation carried a not-to-exceed amount of $2,300,000. Staff requested additional funds from the Transportation Investment Act (TIA) office to cover the project’s full cost; after TIA reviewed project information and included inflation, TIA agreed to provide $1,300,000 in additional funding to cover the total cost of the project, county staff said.
The board asked no follow-up questions during the meeting. A motion to approve the supplemental agreement and authorize the chairman to sign carried without recorded opposition.
County staff presented the supplemental agreement as a funding adjustment rather than a new scope of work; the agreement will be executed with GDOT and returned to the board if a memorandum of agreement or additional documents are required, staff said.
