Summary
The Governing Board approved a cooperative‑contract purchase of iboss cloud security, renewed a public‑affairs/government relations contract, and accepted multiple gifts and donations to district schools and programs.
The Paradise Valley Unified School District Governing Board unanimously approved the purchase of iboss cloud security using a cooperative contract (ADSPO 16196282) and renewed an existing district contract for public affairs and government relations consulting (contract 2206 PV). The board also accepted a long list of gifts and donations to schools and programs across the district.
IT staff and purchasing representatives told the board that iboss was recommended as best in class for K–12 security and compatibility with Chromebooks, Windows and macOS devices; the district secured a 25% discount on a contract renewal. "Gartner ... places iboss in the upper quadrant," an IT representative said, explaining the vendor's industry placement. The board passed the iboss authorization by voice vote.
The board approved renewal of a public affairs and government relations cooperative contract, retaining D'Mena (listed in procurement records) at $54,000 for the year to provide lobbying and legislative updates to the district. The renewal sits on a cooperative contract that also includes HighGround as an available vendor.
Trustees also accepted dozens of donations listed in the agenda packet, including funds for sports programs, discretionary site funds, instructional supplies and community events. Notable donations announced during the meeting included Carvana's $10,000 gift to Paradise Valley High School's automotive program and a $15,000 site discretionary grant from the Northstar Foundation to Greenway Middle School.
Each procurement and gift acceptance passed with unanimous board support. The board directed staff to proceed with contract execution and to acknowledge donors in accordance with district policy.
