Dr. Karen Bell presented a proclamation asking the Liberty County Board of Commissioners to declare support for Keep America Beautiful—s Great American Cleanup and to participate locally on March 29. Bell described the program as a nationwide community improvement movement that encourages litter removal, tree planting, recycling initiatives and restoration of parks and shorelines.
The proclamation commits Liberty County to organize three community cleanups annually, conduct reduce-reuse-recycle programming, and hold an annual celebration event; it also links local participation to the national effort in advance of the nation—s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026. "We're looking at March 29th to be our Great American Cleanup for Liberty County," Bell said.
Ending: Commissioners gathered to sign the proclamation at the dais and thanked Bell and her team for volunteer work; staff noted grant opportunities tied to Keep America Beautiful programming and tentatively discussed three pilot park projects and community gardens with musical features.
