Nicholas Alatsakis, director of communications for Waukegan Public Schools, said the district will host two Safe Haven presentations led by the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic to provide immigration-related information and answers for families.
Alatsakis said the first presentation will be at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 and will be offered in English and Spanish. The second presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13. Both sessions will last about an hour and include a question-and-answer period. Attendees may join in person at Juarez Middle School or watch the live stream on the district's YouTube channel.
The district announcement did not list a specific agenda for the sessions, speaker names from the clinic, or resource materials to be provided. Alatsakis presented the sessions as informational opportunities for parents and students to receive support and clarity on immigration-related topics.
