Board members asked for clarification about the scope of the authorization. Staff described the authorization as allowing immediate hires in urgent circumstances so district operations can continue before formal board approval is scheduled; hires would later be presented to the board for confirmation. The motion was moved by Ashley Thomas and seconded by Miss Cox; the roll call vote was recorded as unanimous (5-0).
