Monroe County Auditor Molly Turner King told the council the 2024 financial transfers and corrections would be completed the next day, and that bond encumbrances and grant carryforwards would soon be processed. She said a reversion report will follow and the county's revenue report will be consolidated and made easier to read; staff expect the revised report within one to two weeks.
In public comment at the start of the meeting, a representative of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce delivered the chamber’s 2025 legislative agenda to the council. He noted the chamber had surveyed nearly 200 members and that one addition to this year’s agenda is support for expansion of the Monroe County Airport. The chamber representative said the organization stands ready to partner with the county on airport matters and other agenda items.
Why this matters: The auditor’s timeline indicates when council and the public can expect finalized year-end financials and an updated revenue report; the chamber’s public comment signals local business support for airport expansion, which may inform future county coordination or advocacy.
