The Columbia City Common Council re-elected Dan as council president during its Jan. 14 meeting.
Councilmember Jennifer nominated Dan for council president; Leslie moved to second the nomination. After a motion to close nominations and a voice vote, the mayor announced that councilmembers Leslie, Jenny, Jennifer and Tad voted in favor. The chair declared Dan continuing as council president.
After the vote, Council President Dan said, "I'm trying to keep the meetings running appropriately," and thanked colleagues for their continued support. The vote was recorded during the meeting's organizational items; no additional council action or ordinance accompanied the election.
The re-election continues existing leadership for the council as it proceeds into its 2025 work plan.
