Little Miami board approves personnel items, grants girls wrestling field trip

The Little Miami Local School District Board of Education approved routine personnel items and a girls wrestling field trip at its Jan. 16 special meeting.
Superintendent staff presented personnel items and requested board approval. Among the personnel items was a teacher’s request to apply for a Fulbright scholarship that, if awarded, would require a leave of absence for a spring semester in one of the 2026, 2027 or 2028 school years. The superintendent said the teacher works extensively with English-language learners and would pursue ESL practices overseas to bring back instructional ideas; the leave would not affect the teacher’s license.
The board also approved a girls wrestling field trip. The superintendent said the trip would provide competitive experience and development opportunities for district wrestlers, and described it as an ‘‘incredible opportunity.’’ During the meeting board members expressed support for the growth of girls wrestling in the district.
Both the personnel slate and the field trip motion were approved by roll call.
