The Miller County Board of Commissioners elected a vice chairman, assigned committee seats and reappointed the county attorney during its January 2025 meeting.
The board approved the slate of internal assignments and routine business by voice vote. Commissioners assigned Mr. Cox to the road committee and voted to place newly seated Commissioner Keith Bowen on the emergency services committee in place of Commissioner Jeff (last name not specified in the transcript). The board also accepted a letter from County Attorney West Baldwin and reappointed him for another one-year term.
The board unanimously approved the meeting agenda, the prior meeting minutes and the financial report by voice vote. Commissioners also voted to table a full review of county ordinances and asked staff to schedule a workshop for all commissioners to review the ordinances together.
Several procedural motions were handled without extended debate. Board members asked staff to coordinate follow up items—on appointments, placement of committee assignments and scheduling the ordinances workshop—so the items can return at a future meeting.
The board will revisit the ordinances after a workshop and will bring any recommended changes back to a public meeting for formal action.
