At its Jan. 13 meeting the Sequim City Council recorded the following formal actions and outcomes (motions passed as announced by the chair unless otherwise noted):

- Consent agenda approved: included claim vouchers totaling $2,694,520.46, Nov. 25 and Dec. 9, 2024 meeting minutes, amendment 1 to a personal services contract with Bob Stowe (CHIP program), the OpenGov contract, the 2025 council meeting calendar and designation of newspaper of record.

- Application and selection process for council vacancy approved: council approved using the prior vacancy interview questions, instructed staff to post the application (suggested due date Jan. 24) and reserved Jan. 27 for interviews if needed.

- Skatepark name-change process approved: council directed staff to open a 30-calendar-day public comment period and schedule consideration of renaming the Cary Blake skatepark to the Marky Mark Simpson Skate Park; family authorized the suggested name.

- Special meeting scheduled on school-district levy process: council scheduled a tentative special meeting for Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. to consider a possible letter or resolution in support of a school levy, contingent on written guidance from the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission (RCW 42.17A.555 compliance). The council did not adopt a letter or resolution at the Jan. 13 meeting.
