Committee approves transfer of petroleum-release sections out of water-quality chapter

The proposal removes sections 851 and 852 — petroleum release reporting/investigation and petroleum release response/corrective action — from IDAPA 580102 (water quality standards) and moves them to IDAPA 580124.
Nelson said the transfer "provides clarity and consistency for our regulated community allowing stakeholders to easily locate and adhere to the appropriate requirements" and streamlines rule management so future updates will be implemented cohesively under IDAPA 580124. The water-quality staff attended meetings for the companion docket and DEQ received no public comments on this docket during the public-notice period.
The committee moved and approved docket 5801022401 by voice vote.
