The resolution before the authority formally approves the permit set for the enclosed football stadium and was described as consistent with prior approvals. Cross and Hill emphasized that the resolution does not alter the terms of outstanding memorandum(s) of understanding (MOU) between Metro Sports Authority and the Titans; Cross said the resolution “contemplates that it doesn't change the outcome of anything in the MOU.” The authority approved the resolution by voice vote with no nays recorded.
During discussion, staff noted a small number of peripheral design items remain open between Metro Sports Authority and the Titans and that teams continue to meet to close those items. Hill said teams “are all working very well together to ensure that we bring all those items to closure.” Tom Cross added that if there were to be a material change in use or design, the matter would be brought back to the authority.
The authority’s action clears the current construction documents for implementation and continued coordination with contractors and design teams. Staff and legal said the body will be updated if anything material changes that would affect the approved permit set.
The vote concludes the agenda item; the authority moved on to facility questions following the vote.
