The Chattanooga Beer Board on Jan. 16, 2024 approved a retail beer permit application for Flat Out Sim Racing, a sim-racing lounge at 3902 Lee Highway, and recorded several permits previously approved by regulatory staff.
The board approved the application identified in the meeting as permit 1301 by roll call. Board members Christie, Brooke, Ron, JW, Reginald, Betsy, Zach and the chair all voted “yes,” according to the meeting record. The board also approved the minutes for the Jan. 2, 2025 meeting earlier in the session.
Flat Out Sim Racing representative Jerome Lee Frizzell said the business operates as a sim-racing lounge with six full-motion, FIA-certified simulators available for rent and offers prepackaged food. “We have 140-ish cars and 150 tracks from around the world,” Frizzell said during his presentation.
Board members asked about how beer would be dispensed. Frizzell said a cooler will be located beside the reception desk and that he — currently the only employee — would serve beer directly rather than using a self-serve model.
Regulatory staff also reported three permits that had been approved administratively: Alpha Brown LLC (beer permit 1259), The Bargain Barn (beer permit 1303) and Fuentes LLC (beer permit 1305). The board did not take additional formal action on those administratively approved permits during the meeting.
The board’s chair wished the Flat Out Sim Racing team luck and said he planned to visit the business in person.
No fines, conditions on the new permit, or enforcement actions were recorded in connection with the Flat Out Sim Racing approval during the meeting.
