Bullhead City School Board moves monthly meetings to 3rd Thursday, reopens vacancy application and asks county superintendent for nominees

The Bullhead City School District governing board voted unanimously on Jan. 9, 2025 to change its regular meeting day from the second Thursday to the third Thursday of each month, effective immediately.
Board members said the change aims to ensure district reports required before Jan. 15 are received on time and to accommodate at least one prospective board candidate, Judy Reed, whose existing appointment conflicted with the former meeting schedule. The board also reopened the application period for the current board vacancy and set a Feb. 14, 2025 deadline for letters of interest. The board directed staff to contact Reed and simultaneously asked County Superintendent John Warren to forward names the board might consider if the reopened application does not yield a candidate.
The motion to change the meeting date passed by voice vote. The board instructed staff to notify prospective applicants and update the meeting calendar.
