The Santa Clara County Planning Commission on Jan. 17 voted unanimously to forward a favorable recommendation to the Board of Supervisors to repeal the Dec. 3, 2024 housing element update and adopt a revised 2023–2031 housing element and related General Plan amendments.
Deputy Director Lisa Mikhail told the commission the county submitted revisions requested by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) before HCD’s Dec. 31 deadline and that HCD has indicated the revised draft “is in substantial conformance with the law.” Principal planner Michael Meehan and senior planner Robert Kane presented the revised draft and the staff recommendation.
