Board recognizes pre-K paraprofessionals as Everyday Heroes; names Marco Trullo assistant-principal awardee

Everyday Hero paraeducators
Staff said teacher Kim Topolis nominated Tiffany Franceschi and Shaday (Sade) Agbula (name rendered in the meeting) for supporting an integrated pre-K classroom at John Patterson School. Topolis’s nomination — read aloud by a presenter — praised the nominees for consistent classroom support, patience during transitions of three-year-olds, sensory supports, recess coverage, help with lesson plan changes and other daily tasks. The recognition included a short video of student remarks; students described classroom activities they enjoy with the named paraeducators.
Board members thanked the paraeducators for their work. Tiffany Franceschi accepted in person and said she appreciated the nomination; Shaday (Sade) Agbula joined online and thanked the board and her colleagues.
State assistant-principal award
The board also recognized Marco Trullo (name as presented) for being named a 2025 state assistant-principal award recipient by the awarding body (presenter identified the awarding process and noted a site visit by evaluators). The presenter said the award includes an invitation to a national leadership recognition event in Washington, D.C., in April. Trullo thanked the board and described the honor as humbling; board members and the superintendent offered congratulations and noted the recipient’s work on equity and school leadership.
