Summary
Tiffany Baggett, a longtime nursing assistant and Middletown native, was introduced and welcomed to the Middletown Board of Health. Baggett volunteered to serve on the finance committee and the board accepted the placement.
The Board of Health introduced and welcomed new member Tiffany Baggett at the start of its Jan. 14 meeting. Baggett said she has worked as a state‑tested nursing assistant for about 26 years and has been a supervisor in housekeeping and laundry for two years; she told the board she had worked at Willow No for 22 years and is a Middletown native.
Mayor Elizabeth Slankov invited Baggett to say a few words and asked members to introduce themselves. Baggett said, “My name is Tiffany Baggett and I'm really looking forward to working with all of you. So pretty excited.” Board members welcomed her and described volunteer expectations and committee options.
Baggett volunteered to join the finance committee; staff noted the finance committee may meet outside regular board meetings to review budgets and levies and that Baggett’s fresh perspective would be useful as staff prepare a simplified financial spreadsheet for the board. No formal motion was required for committee placement; the board accepted the volunteer selection and updated its roster.
Baggett’s background and local ties were discussed during the meeting’s opening roll call and introduction period.
