The committee chair said the clerk appointment would be sent to the Secretary of the Senate and that the judges’ names heard at the meeting would remain on the committee page for approximately a week before proceeding to a floor vote.
The clerk role will be recorded with the Secretary of the Senate and appear on the committee’s public page for about a week, after which the nominees heard during the session will proceed to a floor vote, the chair said.
No additional paperwork or contested motions were recorded during the clerk election; the committee moved on to confirmation hearings after the vote.
