The portion of Policy 8130 that addressed married and pregnant students will be split into its own policy (referenced in the packet as 55.5). Administrators said the new text provides additional detail on reasonable modifications the district can offer to pregnant students, such as modified schedules, lactation spaces, extended deadlines and voluntary leave options, and requires notification to Title IX coordinators when the district becomes aware of pregnant students.
Policy 5674 was introduced as a district-level statement summarizing existing IT security expectations and disaster-recovery planning. Administration said they are adding Policy 5674 to the manual to serve as a referenced policy for a forthcoming AI policy. The data-security policy covers password and access-control expectations, regular system audits, encryption and continuity of critical IT services; staff names (Mr. Flegal and Mr. Rizbicki) were cited as having reviewed the draft.
All three items were presented as first readings and will return for formal adoption at a subsequent meeting; board members did not take adoption votes at this session.
Ending District staff said the additional policy work will be coordinated with the policy committee and brought back to the board for action at a later date, including a more detailed presentation on a proposed AI policy.
