Carter cautioned that district crews cannot make repairs that penetrate the existing roof membrane without risking warranty coverage and said a detailed consultant review is needed to determine whether the proposed scope is a long-term fix or a short-term bandage.
The superintendent said weather and seasonal temperature limits also affect when repairs can be performed. Carter noted technical questions remain about tapered insulation and ponding that could require larger-scope corrective work; he said the district expects a consultant on site to evaluate current proposals and provide recommendations to the board and to the commission.
Several commissioners said they will seek a site tour and follow-up status reports; some urged the district and contractor to resolve the work quickly to avoid further interior damage.
